I’m very pleased to report that Luna Foundation’s project in Kent and Medway has been highly commended in the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards.
The panel was ‘extremely impressed’ at the work Luna has delivered in Kent and Medway to improve the support for children and young people bereaved by suicide and ‘the amount of hard work and dedication required to deliver them’.
I managed the writing and design of three bespoke guides – ‘Supporting children and young people after the suicide of a parent or carer – a guide for professionals’, ‘Supporting your child after the bereavement of a parent or carer – a guide for families’ and a suicide bereavement resource guide.
I redeveloped the training slideshow and content to match the guides and worked with a designer to update the branding.
I edited and updated a suicide bereavement policy template and created an implementation checklist to go alongside it.
This was my first assignment for Luna and it has led to further work creating resources and delivering training in Greater Manchester and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. I’ve also led on the development and pilot of an Early Years training package which has since been commissioned in Greater Manchester.
Anna, the founder and CEO of Luna, is a very impressive and dedicated woman. She shares her story on Four Thought here. I’m honoured to be working with her to improve support for vulnerable children and young people across the UK.
