I have worked with APP for 12 years. I am currently:

• supporting the development of a Theory of Change and 5 year strategic plan

• managing the development of legal and rights and menopause content for the website, including facilitating focus groups and co-ordinating lived experience input

• drafting APP consultation submissions

• reviewing website and updating content and presentation.

I have previously:

• delivered over 23 training sessions for new APP peer supporters

• researched and written a new Insider Guide – ‘Being a parent after postpartum psychosis’ – published on website here.

• Developed and updated guidelines and the volunteer handbook.

• Managed the migration of APP’s website to WordPress including updating structure and SEO.

• Review and update of Dissociation and dissociative disorders (2026) - working to the PIF TICK health information standard.

As Senior Health Information Manager (maternity cover):

• I managed a team of 2 content writers and editors and 3 freelance writers to maintain over 400 health information products under the PIF TICK.

• I developed and updated Tommy’s Health Information Production Policy to gain PIF TICK reaccreditation under the new V3.0 criteria. This included writing a new AI Policy and embedding a process to increase diverse representation within our lived experience review group.

• I was responsible for the SEO/GEO strategy for the Patient Information team. Over 2025/6 this meant leading on the directorate response to the changing search environment, working to implement structured data (JSON-LD schema mark-up) and EEAT signals alongside developing a new audit and assessment tool for legacy content. This tool uses data to guide strategic decisions around content optimisation.

• I led Tommy’s involvement in a new pilot with PIF. This explored the use of an AI GPT agent trained entirely on specific accredited content.

• I led on a sector wide project to update and evaluate key messaging on reduced foetal movements, in line with new evidence and guidelines. I led extensive stakeholder consultation, organised and chaired two webinars to disseminate messaging to healthcare professionals and set up an NHS Quality Improvement project to evaluate the changes.

• I worked with relevant stakeholders and focus groups to develop a Patient Charter for Miscarriage Care in Scotland and accompanying animation.

• I set up a cross organisation working group to address inconsistencies and uncertainties in existing inclusive language policies.

As Project Manager: Information and Support, I managed the development and delivery of innovative information and support content. I have listed key projects below.

• Wellbeing after Miscarriage programme – shortlisted for a Third Sector Digital Innovation Award.

• Ghostwriter of article for The Female Lead.

• Review and update of Tommy’s Planning for Pregnancy Tool and email support series.

• Scottish Government leaflets and NHS inform content on miscarriage.

• Development of 'Trained by Tommy's' training on supporting customers after baby loss for Mamas and Papas staff.

• A suite of induction of labour content developed in response to the PIF Maternity Decisions Survey, including new information on understanding risk and making decisions.

• I worked closely with midwives and other clinicians to ensure Tommy's miscarriage content is clinically accurate and aligned with evidence-based guidelines and clinical practice.

• I created a new decision aid for the management of missed miscarriage in response to updated NICE guidelines.

I worked as a research, information and training consultant for the Miscarriage Association (now MiscarriageUK) for 9 years. During this time I completed a number of projects listed below.

• Led on a new suite of resources for miscarriage and the workplace. Researched, wrote and developed support resources for employers, line managers, colleagues and employees. 

• Developed and delivered online training for employees and managers on supporting people in the workplace who experience pregnancy loss.

• Represented the Miscarriage Association at a cross-government working group to improve guidance around workplace policies relating to fertility, miscarriage and baby loss.

• Researched and developed new support resources for people pregnant after a previous loss.

• Reviewed and updated content on:

  • information and support for young people

  • support for partners

  • supporting someone you know

• Conducted an audit of stories and personal experiences available on the website.

• Researched and wrote a suiteof information about miscarriage and mental health, including filming and editing an interview with pregnancy loss counsellor..

• Conducted research and delivered recommendations on achieving accredited status for learning materials developed for healthcare professionals

• Project management, research & development of educational films & training materials for healthcare professionals - given a 5* review by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and won Highly Commended in the Drama category of the EVCOM awards.

• Researched and developed miscarriage resources for young people. Article in The Telegraph to launch new resources. Resources highly commended at the British Medical Association Patient Info Award 2017 and runner-up in the  Young Adults award category.

• Wrote 3 leaflets for parents and professionals on supporting children after a parent or primary caregiver dies by suicide for the Luna Foundation and commissioning areas.

• Supported the development of the Luna Lived Experience Network and an ambassadors program.

• Developed an early years practitioners focus group and pilot training sessions.

• Supported/co-delivered 8 × 3 hour training sessions for professionals working in early years and with children and young people bereaved by parental suicide.

• Researched and wrote guidance for parents on talking to young people about suicide and self-harm content online.

• Researched and wrote guidelines for those in the rail sector dealing with vulnerable people via social media and other remote contacts.

• Project editor for the British Lung Foundation (now Asthma and Lung UK) paediatric hub.  This involved project management, research, writing and editing online content. Working to the old NHS Information Standard.

• Wrote a new leaflet providing guidance on air pollution for primary schools.

• Content development. Reviewed content on OnePlusOne’s Early Intervention tools. Ran co-creation workshops, developed plans & written content for online services aimed at young people & new parents.

• Competitor analysis. Researched and wrote a comprehensive report on current relationship support online and existing models of service delivery.

• Delivered training in online community moderation to OCD Action’s new moderation team.
