Four Thought and the Luna Foundation

After a parent dies by suicide

ANna Wardley

I would urge you (if you feel able) to listen to Luna Foundation's Anna Wardley on Four Thought (BBC Sounds). Anna argues for better support for children who lose a parent to suicide, starting her talk in the dark waters of the English Channel as she attempts to swim non-stop around the Isle of Wight (one of many amazing feats of endurance she has accomplished) and going on to describe her own experience of losing her dad to suicide aged nine. She finishes with a discussion about the Luna Foundation - a charity she established this year to help transform the way children are supported after a suicide bereavement.

Luna leaflets and lived experience network

Anna is an amazing woman and I'm really pleased to be working with the Luna Foundation to write their leaflets and content for families on supporting children after the loss of a parent to suicide, and for professionals on supporting children they work with. I also hope to do more work helping to develop and establish their lived experience network next year.
